777 Hailun pianos were placed for this event which equaled the length of more than 1,600 kilometers and a total body weight of 250,000 kilograms were rushed from Ningbo to Xiamen. Hailun Piano was chosen to commemorate “the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China were Lang Lang and Thousands of Piano Messengers Challenge the Guinness World Record”. The 2019 opening event was held on January 27th in Xiamen, Fujian.
In order to successfully complete this task, Hailun Piano Company quickly arranged and prepared 777 pianos. In order to better ensure the performance, Hailun piano also specially produced a number of Hailun limited edition high-profile upright pianos and grand pianos.
The piano was specially designed to challenge the Guinness World Record, and had the exclusive logo of this event engraved. It can be said that they are extremely valuable and collectible instruments introduced by Hailun Piano.
When the pianos were placed, Hailun choose high-level players to come to Xiamen to participate in this challenge. Strict auditions were held, and there were contestants chosen, who met the challenge requirements, from all over the country.
These outstanding piano players gathered in Xiamen, and after an intense rehearsal, on the morning of January 27th, together with the pianist Lang Lang began to challenge the Guinness World Record. People in the industry have said after hearing the news: “Only Hailun piano has such a great presence and drive!”
In just three months, Hailun Piano Company produced the Hailun JNS limited edition pianos, and organized its dealers and music institutions to carry out strict piano player auditions. Hailun Piano was highly praised by the organizing committee of the event.
On January 27th, in the Xiamen, which is known as the “hometown of piano”, the Guinness World Record Challenge officially began. More than a thousand piano players from Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Hebei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Shanghai, Beijing, Sichuan and other places in the country played Schubert’s “Military March” under the guidance of pianist Lang Lang on more than 700 Hailun pianos to challenge the Guinness World Record.
Ms. Wu Xiaohong, a staff member from the Guinness World Records Institute, read several requirements for the record before the challenge:
1. The number of people participating in the challenge should be more than 250 players;
2. The time of the track should not be less than 5 minutes;
3. The person who participates in the challenge performance must be playing with both hands without interruption.
At the time of the rehearsal, many piano players adjusted the performance speed under the guidance of the pianist Lang Lang, enhancing the precision of the performance, and they learned the mutual cooperation required for a collective performance.
After a few rehearsals, everyone quickly adapted to the performance of the outdoor setting. Under the command of the pianist Lang Lang and the conductor, all the piano players began to play the “Army March” in a uniform manner. Under the strict supervision of the Guinness World Records staff, everyone played the whole song very smoothly.
After the performance, the Xiamen Sports Center Stadium was silent, and all the piano players and audiences were waiting for the Guinness staff to announce the final challenge results. Finally, while everyone awaited eagerly, Ms. Wu Xiaohong announced that the challenge was a success!
Upon hearing the great news, all the piano players and the audience at the scene immediately cheered! These cheers and applause, were the best affirmation of the performance of all pianists who participated in this Guinness World Record Challenge event, and also provided the best representation of sound to more than 700 Hailun pianos!
Hailun not only gave great support to the event in terms of manpower and material resources, but also provided the stable pianos to the performance. During the event rehearsal, an author interviewed several piano players. A child from Turkey, Mina Selcuk, is eight years old. She has been in China for seven years with her father. She attended the Xiamen International Primary School and loved piano. Both the father and the daughter are fluent in Chinese. Her father said: “It is very exciting to take my child to participate in this grand event. We are willing to express our respect for the Chinese people with the sound of children’s music!” Mina said: “If this challenge is successful, She will be able to get a certificate of success with the master of Lang Lang, and I will become the happiest child in Turkey!”
A piano player Saumya from India and Noor from Lebanon are looking forward to getting a certificate after successfully challenging the Guinness World Record, sharing happiness with their friends and family!
A little girl from the Gaomi area of Shandong said that she used a Hailun piano at home. Seeing the Hailun JNS limited edition pianos customized for the Guinness World Record were beautiful with its official logo, she stated that she was envious!
